Wentworth Inducts Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2022

BOSTON, Mass. – Six former student-athletes who distinguished themselves while wearing the Black & Gold were inducted into the Wentworth Institute of Technology Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday afternoon. Samantha Curran '15 (volleyball, softball), Shaun Jameson '13 (ice hockey), Skylur Jameson '12 (ice hockey), Alex Marinkovich '04 (ice hockey), Mary Pastorelli '17 (soccer), and Alex Potts '17 (volleyball) were honored as a part of Wentworth's inaugural Alumni Day luncheon.

SAMANTHA CURRAN, Class of 2015 –Volleyball and Softball
A two-sport standout, Sam Curran was a member of both the volleyball and softball teams at Wentworth. As a member of the volleyball team, she set a program record for digs during her senior season with 427 and is the program's all-time leader in digs (1,414) and digs per set (3.81) and was named an Academic All-America as a senior. On the diamond she grabbed national attention as a senior when she was named the 2015 Division III Academic All-America of the Year for softball. During that campaign she was named First Team All-Commonwealth Coast Conference and was also honored as the CCC's Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year. That season she batted .424 and was a perfect 10-for-10 in stolen bases. For her career she was 31-for-31 on stolen bases and sits atop the program's all-time list with 278 assists while ranking in the top five in runs scored, doubles, hits, total bases, triples, walks, batting average (.358), on-base percentage, games played, and stolen bases. As a senior Sam received the prestigious Wentworth Bowl, the highest honor a student can receive. A native of Quincy, Mass., Curran graduated in the inaugural Biomedical Engineering class and currently works as a Supply Chain Launch Lead for DePuy Synthes, supporting knee product development and improve patient care through enhanced knee replacement products.

SHAUN JAMESON, Class of 2013 – Ice Hockey
The Wentworth ice hockey program's second-ever All-American, Shaun Jameson is Wentworth's all-time points leader for defensemen with 95. That total also ranks him 13th on the program's all-time scoring list and his 71 career assists rank him sixth in program history. A four-time All-ECAC Northeast selection, Jameson earned ECAC Northeast Player of the Year honors in 2013 after helping Wentworth to its second straight (and sixth overall) ECAC Northeast Championship. That season he ranked among the Top 10 in defenseman scoring in Division III, averaging 0.96 points per game and he was named a finalist for the Sid Watson Award, which is presented annually to the top Division III player in the country. He graduated from Wentworth with a degree in Business Management and currently resides in his native Orange County, Calif. where he serves as a Project Manager for Walsh Construction.

SKYLUR JAMESON, Class of 2012 – Ice Hockey
A four-time, All-ECAC Northeast selection, the 2009 ECAC Northeast Rookie of the Year, and the 2010 ECAC Northeast Player of the Year, Skylur Jameson is Wentworth hockey's second all-time leading scorer with 159 points, including 92 assists. During his rookie season he scored 48 points, which is the fifth-most in program history and he helped the Leopards reach the conference championship game in 2010, 2011, and 2012, capturing the ECAC Northeast Conference Championship in 2012. That season saw the program win Wentworth's first-ever NCAA Division III Tournament game. As both a junior and a senior, the Mechanical Engineering major was named a semifinalist for the Joe Concannon Award, which is given to the top American-born ice hockey player in New England at the Division II/III level, and, as a senior, he was a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection. A native of Orange County, Calif., Jameson resides in Oakland, Calif., where he is a Performance and Capacity Engineer for eBay.

ALEX MARINKOVICH, Class of 2004 – Ice Hockey
Alex Marinkovich was a four-year letterwinner for the ice hockey team from 2000-2004. He played in 112 career games, scoring 70 goals, and assisting on 70 others for 140 career points, which ranks him fifth on the all-time scoring list. He helped the Leopards reach the ECAC Northeast championship game in each of his four years, with the team winning the conference championship and earning a bid the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2002, 2003, and 2004. During the 2003 season he scored 53 points, which is the second most in program history, and he was named to the ECAC Northeast All-Conference Team. Marinkovich was born in the Yukon Territory and raised in Kelowna, British Columbia. At Wentworth he pursued a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering. He and his wife are currently independent business owners, but he also serves as an Engineer/Superintendent for AECOM in Boston, Mass.

MARY PASTORELLI, Class of 2017 – Soccer
A dynamic defender, Mary Pastorelli commanded the Wentworth women's soccer defense for four seasons, was a three-time All-Commonwealth Coast Conference selection and was named the CCC Defensive Player of the Year and All-New England selection as both a junior and senior. As a senior she helped anchor a defense that allowed just 14 goals in 23 games and recorded a program-record 14 shutouts. That season the women's soccer team became the first women's team in Wentworth history to win the CCC and earn a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament, where they won their opening-round contest. While she was known for her defense, Mary also scored seven goals and assisted on five others for 19 points during her career. The Biomedical Engineering major ranks fifth all-time in games started with 74 and is tied for sixth in games played with 82. A native of Whitesboro, N.Y., she currently resides in Rensselaer, N.Y .working as a Lead Senior Biotech Production Specialist for Regeneron Pharmaceuticals.

ALEX POTTS, Class of 2017 –Volleyball
A two-time and first-ever All-America selection for the Wentworth men's volleyball program, Alex Potts was a four-year standout for the Leopards and played in 119 matches over the course of his career. Potts was a three-time All-Great Northeast Conference selection, helped Wentworth to an ECAC Championship in 2014 and two GNAC Conference Championships, earning back-to-back berths to the NCAA Tournament 2016 and 2017, leading the 2017 squad to the national semifinal. Alex is the Leopards' all-time leader in hitting percentage (.393), block assists (303) and total blocks (376). As a junior, he set a program record and led all of Division III men's volleyball with a .526 hitting percentage. Originally from Niverville, NY, Potts graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and is presently working as an AutoCAD Technician at Taconic Engineering, DPC in Chatham, N.Y.
