Newton, Sicard Named Leopards of the Week
Jack Newton of men's outdoor track and field and Tati Sicard of women's outdoor track and field earn this week's honors
BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman Jack Newton (Gloucester, Mass.) of men's outdoor track and field and freshman Tati Sicard (Mansfield, Mass.) of women's outdoor track and field have been named Leopards of the Week for the week of April 1-7.
Newton posted a historic showing at the Jonathan Tymann Invitational, breaking two program records to a pair of top-three finishes. His third-place finish (10:10.09) in the 3000M Steeplechase smashed a program mark as did his second-place finish in the 400M hurdles (1:01.02).
Sicard also etched her name in program history at Gordon, sailing past two program marks in her respective events. The rookie set new program highs in the triple jump (9.12M) and the shot put (9.27M) while finishing fifth and 11th in the two events, respectively.
