BOSTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of
Technology Athletic Department is pleased to announce that it will
be hosting a soccer clinic for members of the Special Olympics on
Saturday, October 5. This marks the second year in a row the
Leopards have taken part in this event.
This partnership is in conjunction with an NCAA
Division III initiative and its purpose is to
improve the lives of Special Olympics athletes through their
involvement with Division III student-athletes and to foster a
mutual learning experience between Division III student-athletes
and Special Olympics athletes.
Saturday's clinic will feature Leopard student-athletes
assisting with a clinic on Sweeney Field, which will be followed by
the Special Olympians being involved in the pre-game introductions
and National Anthem prior to the 12:00 p.m. start of the men's
soccer game against Commonwealth Coast
Conference foe Curry College.
