Ashley Kilstein Scire was named Associate Director of Athletics at Wentworth Institute of Technology on August 27, 2019.

Before joining the Wentworth staff, Kilstein spent three seasons as as Assistant Women's Ice Hockey Coach at Princeton University where the Tigers enjoyed much success, reaching the semifinals of the ECAC Hockey Tournament twice and earning a berth in the NCAA Division I Tournament in 2019. During her time at Princeton she coached the forwards (2016-2017) and defensemen (2017-2019), handled film analysis, recruiting, social media efforts, and worked with the Tiger Athletics Give Day in conjunction with the men’s ice hockey program. She also served as the Princeton Associate Camp Director and performed numerous administrative functions within the women’s hockey program.

Prior to joining the Princeton staff, Kilstein spent five seasons as the Head Women’s Ice Hockey Coach at Plymouth State University where she took the program, which had two wins in six years, to the most wins in program history, its highest conference standing and consecutive post-season appearances. She was named the ECAC East Coach of the Year in 2013 and, that season, was a finalist for the America Hockey Coaches Association DIII Coach of the Year.

Outside of her coaching and recruiting duties, Kilstein was also in charge of her own team’s administrative duties, equipment and fundraising and giving and charity events. Additionally, she carried out administrative duties in the athletics department as the sole administrator of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, acted as the social media coordinator, was involved in fall/spring game management and taught hockey and fitness classes on campus. She also spent a season at Williams College as an Assistant Women’s Ice Hockey Coach.

As a student-athlete, she played at Union College where she led her team in scoring as a freshman and was nominated for the league’s rookie of the year award. During her senior year she was named the team’s unsung hero and, Kilstein made such an impact at Union with her fundraising efforts, that an annual award is given each year in her name. The award is given for dedication to the community of Union College, being an outstanding citizen and volunteering in the community. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in English from Union in 2008 and received a Master’s degree in Legal Studies from Albany Law School in 2009.

In July, 2020, Kilstein was appointed to a four-year term on the NCAA Men's & Women's Ice Hockey Rules Committee and she also serves as the sport liaision to the Commonwealth Coast Conference women's ice hockey coaches.
