The Fighting Scots added an insurance run in the fifth when Amaya delivered an RBI single, which scored sophomore Eric Walker (Danvers, Mass.), who had a one-out single.

In the seventh inning Wentworth had the tying run at the plate with one out, however junior Wesley Arning (Mufreesboro, Tenn.), who had come on in the top of the sixth inning, got a flyout and a strikeout to end the game.
