Weninger Earns CCC Rookie of the Week Honors

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Freshman Tyler Weninger (Chandler, Ariz.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology baseball team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week for games played through March 8.

Weninger helped the Leopards start the season with a doubleheader sweep over Becker as he hit .400 (2-for-5). After going 0-for-2 with a run scored in an 8-3 win in the opener he was 2-for-3 with a triple, home run, three runs scored, and six RBI. He had an on-base percentage of .571 and a slugging percentage of 1.400.

Through Wentworth's first four games, Weninger is batting .500 (5-for-10) with six runs scored and eight RBI. The Leopards are 3-1 and play WPI on Wednesday afternoon in a doubleheader.
