French, Golebiewski Earn All-CCC Honors

BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore shortstop Aidan French (Chicago, Ill.) and senior outfielder Ross Golebiewski (Lyme, Conn.) were each named to the 2019 Commonwealth Coast Conference Baseball All-Conference Team. Both student-athletes earned third team honors as the conference announced its all-conference teams and major award winners on Wednesday afternoon.

French earns all-conference honors for the first time in his career after starting all 32 of the Leopards' games, batting .330 (37-for-112) with five doubles, two home runs, 16 stolen bases (on 17 attempts), 25 runs scored, and 14 runs batted in. He led the team in batting average, hits, runs, and stolen bases and was second in doubles. His 16 stolen bases also ranked him third among all CCC players. Starting all 63 games in which he has played in his career, French is batting .344 (75-for-218) with 11 doubles, three home runs, 27 stolen bases, 52 runs scored, and 31 runs batted in.

A mainstay in right field, Golebiewski, who also earned All-CCC honors for the first time in his career, had the best offensive season of his four seasons as he batted .306 (33-for-108) with two doubles, eight runs scored, and 20 runs batted in in 32 games (all starts). He ranked second on the team in both hits and runs batted in. Starting 90 of the 106 games in which he has appeared in, Golebiewski ends his career batting .263 (80-for-304) with 10 doubles, one home run, 36 runs scored, and 46 runs batted in.

Wentworth finished the 2019 campaign with a 9-23 overall record and a 3-11 mark in Commonwealth Coast Conference play.
