Fragnoli Named CCC Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – After scoring a career-high 23 points in a 72-53 win at Curry, senior forward John-Michael Fragnoli (Schenectady, N.Y.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's basketball team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week.

Fragnoli netted his career high by connecting on 11 of 13 shots from the floor in 25 minutes of action. He scored 12 points in the first half and 11 in just 10 minutes in the second half. In addition to his 23 points, he tied for a game-high with six rebounds.

Starting seven of the eight games in which he has played, Fragnoli is averaging 11.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 51.2 percent from the floor.

In 91 career games (60 starts), Fragnoli is averaging 7.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per contest while shooting 51.7 percent from the floor.

After starting the season at 0-4, the Leopards have won four straight contests to stand at 4-4 overall and 3-0 in CCC play. The 3-0 start in league play marks the first time Wentworth has started the season 3-0 since the 2010-11 season The Leopards are idle until Monday, December 29, when they travel to Division I Boston University at 7:00 p.m.
