Fulcar Named CCC Rookie of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Freshman Cesar Fulcar (Watertown, Mass.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's basketball team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week after helping to lead the Leopards to an appearance in the CCC title game. This marks the second time this season Fulcar has earned conference rookie of the week honors.

In a 2-1 week for Wentworth, Fulcar averaged 14.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. He had 13 points, five rebounds, eight assists, and three steals in the Leopards' 60-53 win over Gordon in the CCC quarterfinals and recorded a career-high 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting) to go along with five rebounds, and four assists in Wentworth's 70-61 win over the University of New England in the semifinals. In the championship game he scored nine points, grabbed six rebounds, and had three assists.

Fulcar finished his rookie campaign starting 13 of the 28 games in which he played and averaged 7.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.

Wentworth finished with a 14-14 overall record and was fourth in CCC play with a 10-8 mark. The Leopards advanced to their first CCC title game since 2011 and seventh in program history where they fell to second-seeded Endicott.
