Romich Named CCC Player of the Week

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior guard Kyle Romich (Groton, Mass.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's basketball team helped the Leopards to a 1-1 record and was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week for games played December 1-6.

Romich averaged 25.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game while shooting 47.2 percent from the floor (17-for-36) and was 8-for-14 (57.1 percent) from behind the three-point arc.

In a 59-57 win over the University of New England, Romich had a career-high 26 points, which included the game-winning basket with 3.8 seconds remaining in regulation. Romich, who was 5-for-8 from behind the arc, also had eight rebounds in the contest. He finished the week with a 24-point performance in an 82-77 loss to Nichols. In that game he was 8-for-15 from the floor, grabbed six rebounds, and dished out three assists.

Starting all of the team's six games, Romich is averaging 18.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game while shooting 43 percent from the floor, 44.1 percent from behind the arc, and 82.1 percent from the free throw line.

Wentworth sits at 2-4 overall and 1-1 in CCC play. The Leopards host Curry on Tuesday night.
