Romich Earns CCC Player of the Week Honors

BOSTON, Mass. – For the second time this season, senior guard Kyle Romich (Groton, Mass.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's basketball team has earned Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week honors. Romich picks up the accolade for games played from January 11-17.

In a 2-0 week for the Leopards Romich averaged 25.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 51.6 percent (16-for-31) from the floor, which included an 8-for-16 (50.0 percent) showing from beyond-the-arc. He was also 10-for-11 (.909) from the free throw line. Romich had a career-high 31 points to go along with 10 rebounds and five assists while shooting 10-for-19 from the floor (5-for-10 from behind the arc) in a 77-75 win over Endicott. He scored 11 straight points at one stretch in the first half to help Wentworth take the lead for good and hit three of four free throws down the stretch to seal the victory. He concluded the week scoring 19 points in a 64-58 win at Salve Regina.

Through 15 games for the 8-7 (6-2 CCC) Leopards, Romich is leading the team in scoring, averaging 17.9 points to go along with 6-5 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. He is shooting 43.1 percent from the floor and has connected on a team-high 36 three pointers.

Winners of two in a row and four of its last five contests, Wentworth hosts Gordon Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
