Golf Finishes Ninth at ECAC Championship

BERNARDSTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team posted a two-day total of 679 at the 2013 ECAC Division III New England Golf Championship, which placed the Leopards ninth among the 14 schools participating. The event was held at the Crumpin-Fox Golf Club.

Wentworth was tied for ninth after Saturday's first round, shooting a 345 as a team. Sunday's second round saw the Leopards shave 11 strokes off their score to post a 324. Middlebury (635) won the championship with Western New England (648), Elms (649), Nichols (651), and Endicott (652) rounding out the top five.

Junior Dante Christofori (Springfield, Mass.) had a top-10 finish for the Black & Gold as he shot an 81-80—161 to finish tied for ninth in the 70-player field. Senior Eric Anderson (Abington, Mass.) shot a 613 (84-79) to finish tied for 18th. Junior Pat Sullivan (Needham, Mass.) carded a 178 (89-89) to finish tied for 46th while junior Brandon Goold (Foxboro, Mass.) rounded out Wentworth's scores with a 91-88—179, good for a tie for 50th. Graduate student Kyle Nadeau (Chicopee, Mass.) also competed for Wentworth, finishing tied for 53rd with a 181 (94-87).

The Leopards conclude the fall portion of their schedule on October 27-28 at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championships in Brewster, Mass.
