PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Kicking off the spring portion of its schedule, the Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team competed at the 2014 Rhode Island College Spring Invitational. The two-day event was played at the Par 72, 6,458-yard Valley Country Club.

Wentworth shot a two-day total of 713 (360-353), which placed the Leopards 15th among the 17 teams in the field. Junior Pat Sullivan (Needham, Mass.) shot a two-day total of 167 (87-80), which tied him for 28th among the 83 golfers who competed.

Junior Brandon Goold (Foxboro, Mass.) carded a 176 (86-90), which placed him 54th. Sophomore John Doran (Weymouth, Mass.) finished in a tie for 58th as he shot a 179 (91-88), while sophomore Ian Therriault (Auburn, Maine) placed 75th in his collegiate debut after shooting a 191 (96-95).

The Leopards will compete at the Hampton Inn Invitational, hosted by UMass Dartmouth, next weekend.
