SUTTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team concluded its season by competing in the 2014 Rich Korzec Memorial Invitational, which was played at Blackstone National. Due to the inclement weather that moved through the area, the even was shortened to nine holes and was scored on the front nine, which was a par 36, 3,228-yard course.
Rhode Island College won the event as three of the top four scorers came from the Anchormen, who shot a 152. Wentworth finished ninth in the 10-team field, carding a 186.
Junior Pat Sullivan (Needham, Mass.), graduate student Kyle Nadeau (Chicopee, Mass.), and sophomore John Doran (Weymouth, Mass.) all shot 46 to tie for 40th in the 57-player field. Freshman Zach Sousa (Middleboro, Mass.) shot a 48, tying him for 47th to round out the Leopard scorers. Sophomore Nick Ottomaniello (Wilbraham, Mass.) shot a 53, placing him 53rd.
