BROOKLINE, Mass. – Senior Pat Sullivan (Needham, Mass.) finished in a three-way tie for first place, shooting an 81 to help the Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team to a team score of 339 as the Leopards opened the 2014-15 season at a tri-match hosted by Newbury College.
Wentworth's 339 was second to the host Nighthawks' 330 and 49 strokes better than Becker, which shot a 388.
Junior Brad Tyler (San Diego, Calif.) finished tied for fourth, shooting a 12-over 83, freshman Paul Arsenault (Middleton, Mass.) carded an 85, which tied him for seventh, and freshman Enrique Arrieche (Caracas, Venezuela) finished ninth with a 90. Junior John Doran (Weymouth, Mass.) carded a 95 to finish 13th among the 18-player field.
The Leopards will participate in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship qualifier on Thursday.
