WESTFIELD, Mass. – Senior Brandon Goold (Foxboro, Mass.) shot a seven-over 78 to help pace the Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team to a sixth-place finish at the Westfield State Invitational. The Leopards shot a 326 as a team, which was one stroke behind Roger Williams' 325. Rhode Island College carded a 302 to take home the team title at the 14-team event.
Goold finished tied for 12th in the 69-player field and was the lone Leopard to break 80. Classmate Dante Christofori (Springfield, Mass.) finished tied for 20th with an 81, freshman Paul Arsenault (Middleton, Mass.) shot an 82 to finish in a tie for 25th, while junior Brad Tyler (San Diego, Calif.) rounded out Wentworth's scorers after he shot an 85, good for a tie for 39th.
Junior Ian Therriault (Auburn, Maine) also competed for the Black & Gold, finishing 45th with an 86 on the day.
Wentworth is idle until October 8 when the Leopards will compete against Emmanuel and Suffolk.
