Golf Competes at ECAC Championship

BERNARDSTON, Mass. – Senior Brandon Goold (Foxboro, Mass.) carded a two-day total of 166 to finish in a tie for 22nd place and helped the Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team shoot a 690 at the 2014 ECAC Division III New England Championships, which were held at the Par 72, 6,660-yard Crumpin-Fox Club. The Leopards' 690 placed them 15th in the 22-team field as the Black & Gold found themselves in 14th place after round one (340). Trinity (622), Williams (635), and UMass Dartmouth (648) were the top three schools to finish.

Wentworth was one of four teams who did not complete Saturday's first round due to darkness, which meant the Leopards completed the opening round early Sunday morning before teeing off for the final round.

Freshman Paul Arsenault (Middleton, Mass.) finished tied for 59th in the 109-player field as he shot a 173 (84-89) while senior Dante Christofori (Springfield, Mass.) was two shots behind Arsenault, finishing tied for 68th with a 175 (86-89). Junior Brad Tyler (San Diego, Calif.) rounded out Wentworth's scoring rounds, finishing with a 176 (86-90) which tied him for 74th.

Senior Pat Sullivan (Needham, Mass.) also competed for Wentworth as he finished tied for 88th with a 183 (92-91).

The Leopards will wrap up their fall season on October 26-27 at the 80th Annual NEIGA Championships in Brewster, Mass.
