Golf Opens Spring Season

WARWICK, R.I. – Competing in its first event of the spring season the Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team finished 14th among 17 teams at the 2015 Rhode Island College Spring Invitational. The two-day event was held at the par 72, 6,458-yard Valley Country Club.

The Leopards sat in eighth place after Friday's first round when they shot a season-low 318, however, Saturday the Black & Gold shot a 355 to drop to 14th.

Junior Brad Tyler (San Diego, Calif.) finished tied for 37th after shooting a 165 (78-87) over the two days. Senior Pat Sullivan (Needham, Mass.) was tied for 49th with a 168 (78-90) with classmate Brandon Goold (Foxboro, Mass.) finishing in a tie for 55th with a 170 (81-89). Freshman Paul Arsenault (Middleton, Mass.) rounded out Wentworth's scoring rounds with a 174 (81-93), which tied him for 68th and edged classmate Enrique Arrieche's (Caracas, Venezuela) 175 (86-89).

Wentworth will compete in the Hampton Inn Invitational next weekend.
