Golf Places Fourth at CCC Champiionship

BEVERLY, Mass. – Matching its season-low for a two-day event with a 648 the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's golf team concluded its season with a fourth-place finish at the 2015 Commonwealth Coast Conference Championships, which were held on Saturday and Sunday at the Par 70, 6,237-yard Beverly Golf and Tennis Club.

The Leopards who qualified for the spring championship after a fourth-place finish (out of seven teams) at the fall qualifier, shot a 329 on Saturday and shaved 10 strokes off their score to card a 319 on Sunday. Western New England won the conference championship and earned the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship, which will be held May 12-15 at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C. The Golden Bears rallied from a two-stroke deficit and edge defending champion and host Endicott, 611-612. Nichols finished third with a 627.

Senior Brandon Goold (Foxboro, Mass.) capped off his career by finishing fifth with a two-day total of 153. Goold shot 77 on Saturday and had a career-low of 76 on Sunday. Junior Brad Tyler (San Diego, Calif.) finished tied for 13th with a 160 (85-75), senior Dante Christofori (Springfield, Mass.) was 17th with a 163 (82-81), and senior Pat Sullivan (Needham, Mass.) was 19th with a 172 (85-87) to round out the Leopards' scorers. Freshman Paul Arsenault (Middleton, Mass.) completed his rookie season with a 175 (88-87).
