Golf Concludes Fall Season at NEIGA Championship

BREWSTER, Mass. – Playing in its final event of the fall season, the Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team placed 14th at the 81st Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championships, which were held Sunday and Monday at the Captains Course.

The Leopards' 14th place finish was out of 22 Division III teams as the Black & Gold were tied for 12th after day one with a 323 and shot a 324 in the final round. Rhode Island College took home the team title with a two-day total of 618, followed by Salem State and Babson, which finished tied for second with a 624.

Individually, senior Brad Tyler (San Diego, Calif.) entered the day tied for 47th after shooting an 81, however fired a 78 on Monday to finish tied for 34th among 110 golfers. Sophomore Enrique Arrieche (Caracas, Venezuela) and freshman Brian Bak (South Hadley, Mass.) finished tied for 60th after each shot a 164. Senior Alec Foucault (Putnam, Conn.) finished a shot behind the duo, carding a two-day total of 165 to finish tied for 63rd. Foucault shot an 87 on Sunday but rebounded to shoot a 78 Monday. Sophomore Paul Arsenault (Middleton, Mass.) finished tied for 89th as he had a two-day total of 174.

Wentworth's spring schedule will be announced in the early weeks of 2016.
