Golf Places Seventh at Rick Korzec Invitational

SUTTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team wrapped up the 2015-16 season on Wednesday at the Rick Korzec Invitational, which was played at the Par 72, 6,655-yard Blackstone National Golf Course. The Leopards posted their third-lowest score of the season (322) to finish seventh among the 10 teams in the field.

Salem State captured the team title after three of its golfers finished in the top five and compiled a team score of 308. Rhode Island College was second with a 313, followed by host Worcester State which finished third with a 314.

Sophomore Paul Arsenault (Middleton, Mass.) finished tied for fifth after shooting a 77. Freshman Greg Carroll (East Bridgewater, Mass.) was tied for 21st with an 80. Freshman Zach Downing (Clinton, Mass.) shot an 82 to tie for 30th while classmate Brian Bak (South Hadley, Mass.) tied for 32nd after shooting an 83 on the day. Senior John Doran (Weymouth, Mass.) also competed for the Leopards and shot an 85, which tied him for 35th in the 51-player field.

Wentworth's 322 was just four shots off the 318 the Black & Gold shot at the Nighthawk Invitational on Sept. 23.
