GROTON, Conn. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team kicked off its 2016-17 campaign with a first-place finish at the Mitchell Invitational. The four-team event was held at the par 71 Shennecossett Golf Course.
Sophomore Dan Howard (Westwood, Mass.) led the way for the Leopards as he shot a three-over 74, which included three birdies and 10 pars and he and his four teammates all finished in the top eight.
Junior Enrique Arrieche (Caracas, Venezuela) finished tied for fourth with a 79 while junior Paul Arsenault (Middleton, Mass.) was sixth with an 80 and senior Zach Sousa (Middleboro, Mass.) rounded out Wentworth's countable scores with am 82.
Sophomore Zach Downing (Clinton, Mass.) finished eighth with a score of 83.
The Leopards are next in action on September 21 at the Roger Williams Invitational.
