Golf Ties for Third at USM Fall Classic

GORHAM, Maine – Junior Brian Bak (South Hadley, Mass.) shot a four-over 75 to help the Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team tie for third at the 2017 USM Fall Classic, the event, which was played at the Par 71, 6,555 Gorham Country Club, saw Monday's second round canceled due to inclement weather.

The Leopards shot a 318 as a team which tied them with the host Huskies. Husson, which placed all four of its scoring golfers among the top five, captured the event with a team score of 286 while St. Joseph's (Maine) was second with a 314. Bowdoin rounded out the top five, carding a 321 as a team.

Bak finished tied for seventh as he matched his season-best score, both of which have come on Par 71 courses. Senior Paul Arsenault (Middleton, Mass.) finished tied for 17th with a plus-eight 79, senior Enrique Arrieche (Caracas, Venezuela) shot an 81 to finish 24th, freshman Sancho Rodriguez (San Roque, Spain) tied for 30th with an 83, and sophomore Matthew Pleshaw (Franklin, Mass.) was tied for 36th in the 47-player field with an 85.

Wentworth is at the 83rd Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship in Brewster, Mass.), on October 22-23.
