Second Place Finish for Golf at Saints Invitational

HINGHAM, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team placed all four of its scoring golfers among the top 10 as the Leopards placed second at the Saints Invitational, which was played at the Par 72 South Shore Country Club.

Wentworth carded a 346 which was seven strokes behind Eastern Nazarene while the Leopards finished ahead of Mitchell (368) and host Emmanuel (378). Mitchell's Sam Gaboury was the tournament's medalist with a 74.

Leading the way for the Leopards was senior Jack McGrath (Rochester, Mass.), who tied for fourth with an 84. Senior Brian Bak (South Hadley, Mass.) carded an 86 which placed him seventh in the 19-player field. Freshman Jared Turgeon (Dover, N.H.) tied for eighth with an 87, while classmate Nicholas Kurtz (Dover, N.H.) tied for 10th with an 89. Senior Matthew Dean (Gilford, N.H.) also competed, finishing 15th.

Wentworth will compete in its first two-day tournament of the season when the Leopards participate in the Elms Blazer Invitational on Saturday and Sunday in South Hadley, Mass.
