Wentworth Skates to 5-1 Win Over Suffolk

BOSTON, Mass. – Junior forward Skylur Jameson (Long Beach, Calif.) scored a pair of goals and an assist, while linesmates junior Casey Shade (Anchorage, Alaska) and sophomore Anthony Principato (Holmdel, N.J.) had a goal and three assists and a goal and two assists, respectively, as the Wentworth hockey team defeated Suffolk, 5-1, in an ECAC Northeast contest at Matthews Arena.

Skylur Jameson gave the Leopards the lead for good on his 15th marker of the season, coming at 2:48 of the opening period, after a feed from Principato.  Jameson and Shade would have helpers on Principato's 11th of the season just under 10 minutes later to give the hosts a 2-0 lead.

Shade and sophomore defenseman Shaun Jameson (Long Beach, Calif.) set up Skylur Jameson on the power play at 15:20 of the middle stanza to account for the only goal of the period and give Wentworth a 3-0 lead.

The Rams broke the ice at 2:06 of the third period when freshman forward Josh Goryl (Rochester, Minn.) notched his first collegiate goal, set up by sophomore defenseman Andrew Flynn (Stamford, Conn.) and freshman forward Charlie McGinnis (Hanover, Mass.), to cut the lead to 3-1.

Wentworth scored the final two goals of the period as freshman defenseman Lawton McCracken (Colburne, Ont.) scored from Principato and Shade at 5:31, and Shade scored a four-on-four-goal from freshman forward Matthew Dozois (Manotick, Ont.) and Shaun Jameson at 14:29.

Freshman Chris Azzano (Oshawa, Ont.) made 15 stops for the Leopards, while senior Jeff Rose (Collinsville, Conn.) stoped 29 shots for the Rams.  Wentworth held a 34-16 shot advantage.

With the win, Wentworth's second straight, the Leopards improve to 10-8-4 overall and clinch an ECAC Northeast playoff berth with a 7-3-1 record.  Suffolk dropped its third straight to sit at 6-14-0 overall and 2-8-0 in league play.  Wentworth travels to Becker on Sunday, while Suffolk travels to Nichols on Saturday.
