Peck Named ECAC Northeast Goaltender of the Week

BOSTON, Mass. – Junior goaltender Alex Peck (Kirkland, Que.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology ice hockey team has been selected as the ECAC Northeast Goaltender of the Week for games played from November 18-24.

Peck helped the Leopards snap a two-game losing streak as he stopped all 28 shots he faced as Wentworth blanked Curry, 1-0. Twenty-two of his 28 saves came over the final two periods, including 12 in the third period.

In three games this season (all starts) he has a 2-1 record with a 2.03 goals against average and a .924 save percentage. In his two wins he has yielded just one goal on 49 shots.

Peck has been a part of the last three 1-0 games Wentworth has been involved in. In addition to winning this past Saturday, he picked up the win in the 2012 ECAC Northeast title game – also a 1-0 win over Curry – and was in net during a 1-0 loss to Williams last season.

For his career he has played 30 games (all starts) and is 18-10-2 with a pair of shutouts, a 2.21 goals against average, and a .913 save percentage.

Wentworth (3-5, 2-3 ECAC Northeast) is at Wesleyan on Saturday and Trinity on Sunday.
