DANBURY, Conn. – After scoring a goal and assisting on another in Wentworth's 6-3 win over Becker, freshman Erik Andersson (Madison, N.J.) of the Leopard hockey team has been named the ECAC Northeast Rookie of the Week for the week ending January 25.

Andersson played a solid, two-way game for the Leopards who won their second straight contest and extended their league unbeaten streak to three games (2-0-1). His second period assist came on the Leopards' third goal, which gave the Black & Gold the lead for good at 12:54 and he added an insurance marker at 5:39 of the third period as Wentworth extended a 4-3 lead after two periods with a pair of goals in the final frame.

Having played in 14 of the team's 17 games to date, Andersson has scored four goals and assisted on a pair of others to record six points in his rookie campaign.

Wentworth, at 8-7-2 overall and 3-2-1 in ECAC Northeast play, hosts Suffolk on Wednesday evening at 8:30 p.m.
