MARLBORO, Mass. – Junior Nicholas McKee (Bakersfield, Calif.) had two goals and an assist and freshman Brandon Morgan (Rochester, N.Y.) tallied a pair of goals to help the Becker College ice hockey team to a 6-3 victory over Wentworth Institute of Technology in an ECAC Northeast contest on Tuesday afternoon.

With the win the Hawks improve to 9-14-1 overall and 5-9-1 in league play while the Leopards, who saw their five-game win streak come to an end, fall to 8-14-2 (7-7-1).

Becker wasted little time getting on the board when junior Bryan Parsons (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was set up by junior Connor Merrick (Manchester, N.H.) and junior Gerald Owen (Chesapeake, Va.) at the 3:09 mark of the opening frame.

Senior Tyler Auricchio (Henderson, Nev.) gave the Hawks a 2-0 lead when he was set up by McKee and freshman Corey Schafer (Johnston, Pa.) at 4:13 of the second period, and, just six seconds later, the hosts took a 3-0 lead when McKee scored from junior Connor Allison (Hillsboro, Ore.). Morgan gave Becker a 4-0 lead with 3:55 left in the second period after scoring from Schafer and sophomore Corey Sherman (Hilton, N.Y.).

Allison and Merrick set up McKee at 8:23 of the third period to give the Hawks a 5-0 lead before Wentworth got on the board on a goal from senior Mike Cox (Marlborough, Mass.) which was assisted by freshman Jonny Spada (Glen Rock, N.J.) and senior Adam Frank (Clarkston, Mich.) at the 9:01 mark. Sophomore Erik Andersson (Madison, N.J.) made it a 5-2 game with an unassisted marker at 13:32, however Morgan would make it a 6-2 contest with a goal with two minutes remaining. Freshman Sam Levin (Simsbury, Conn.) rounded out the scoring off a feed from junior Jake Flynn (Lino Lakes, Minn.) at 19:17.

Senor Gregg Hussey (Medford, Mass.) picked up the win after making 32 saves, including 17 in the third period. Senior Joel Miller (Calgary, Alta.) was tagged with the loss, making 16 saves on 20 shots in 36:05 of action. Sophomore Ryan Hubbard (West Roxbury, Mass.) made a pair of saves in 22:06 of work. Wentworth had a 35-25 shot advantage in the contest.

Both teams wrap up the regular season on Saturday. Wentworth hosts Salve Regina while Becker is at Western New England.
