Flynn, Miller Named All-ECAC Northeast

BOSTON, Mass. – Two members of the Wentworth Institute of Technology ice hockey team have been honored by the ECAC as the ECAC Northeast announced its all-conference teams and major award winners for the 2015-16 season. Junior defenseman Jake Flynn (Lino Lakes, Minn.) was named to the second team while senior goaltender Joel Miller (Calgary, Alta.) was an honorable mention all-league selection.

A versatile, two-way player, Flynn is enjoying the finest offensive season of his career as he leads the team in scoring with 16 points (six goals, 10 assists. He has a recorded a pair of points in four games this season which is a career high and is presently riding a five-game scoring streak (1-6-7). In 54 career games, Flynn has scored seven goals and has assisted on 15 others for 22 points.

Miller earns the second all-conference nod of his career as he was a second team selection as a rookie. In 18 games (15 starts) he has a 9-6-1 record with a 2.74 goals against average and a .918 save percentage to go along with three shutouts. Miller made a career-high 38 saves in a 4-3 win over Endicott on Feb. 3 and has made 30 or more saves in 11 games. For his career he has started 62 of the 71 games in which he has played, posting a 32-24-5 record with a 2.55 goals against average, a .910 save percentage, and six shutouts. He ranks fourth on the program's career list in wins, saves (1,624), save percentage, goals against average, and shutouts.

Wentworth is the number five seed in the ECAC Northeast Tournament after completing conference play with an 8-7-1 record (9-14-2 overall). The Leopards travel to Suffolk on Sunday night for a first round contest.
