HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • For the second game in a row, Wentworth took a 2-0 lead after the first period of play. Bose recorded his sixth goal and seventh point in the last four games when he lit the lamp at 18:50 off an assist from Gorodetsky. Wentworth outshot the Colonels by a 14-9 margin in the first period.
  • Curry sliced the lead in half with a goal from sophomore Alex Ochterbeck (Dallas, Texas) at the 4:13 mark of the second period, however, the Leopards brought their lead back to two when O'Leary scored on the power play from classmate Jake McKenelley (Middleton, Mass.) at 8:09. With 5:42 left in the period, the Colonels brought the lead back to one on a goal from senior Billy Vizzo (Shelton, Conn.). Sophomore Thomas Draper (Binghamton, N.Y.) made 16 saves in the frame as the Colonels held an 18-10 shot advantage.
  • The Colonels evened the score at the 6:28 mark of the third period when junior Victor Jansson (Stockholm, Sweden) scored from Favaro. Both teams had chances to end the game in regulation, however, neither team could get the go-ahead goal.
  • Overtime saw Wentworth control play early on, putting four shots on net. A face-off won by the Colonels brought the puck into the Leopard zone, where, after a denied bid by Draper and a blocked shot, Favaro was fed a pass in front and shuck a shot by Draper at the 4:37 mark.
  • Sophomore Vladimir Cibulka (Bratislava, Slovakia) made 36 saves while Draper finished with 34 saves. Wentworth held a 39-38 shot advantage.
