Men's Lacrosse Gets Back on Winning Track

DUDLEY, Mass. – Junior Ryan Coakley (Flemington, N.J.) recorded three goals and three assists to help pace the Wentworth men's lacrosse team to a 10-6 victory over Nichols in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at Vendetti Field.

The Leopards held a 3-2 lead after one quarter and, after the game was tied at 4-all late in the half, Wentworth took a 5-4 lead on a sophomore Nick Parent (Windham, N.H.) goal. That goal began a string of three straight for the Black & Gold, who held an 8-5 lead after three quarters.

Coakley and senior Steve Glover (Marstons Mills, Mass.) scored in the fourth to make it a 10-5 game before the Bison tallied late to account for the 10-6 final.

Junior Michael Cushera (Waltham, Mass.) picked up two goals to go along with two assists and a team-high 10 shots. Senior Jared Proulx (Nashua, N.H.) made 12 saves in the win for Wentworth, which snapped a four-game losing streak and improved to 4-6 (1-3).

Junior Michael Bane (North Grafton, Mass.) netted two goals while junior Corey Davis (Wakefield, Mass.) tallied a goal and one assist on the afternoon. Freshmen Matt Feigenblat (Shelton, Conn.) and Tyler Sikich (Valencia, Calif.), along with sophomore Anthony Verville (Portland, Maine), also potted goals for the Bison. Freshman Rob Belger (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) stopped 16 shots for Nichols (2-8, 0-3).

The Bison host Salve Regina University on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Wentworth host Curry College Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
