Proulx Named All-Commonwealth Coast Conference

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Student-athletes from seven different institutions in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) were represented on the 2014 All-CCC Men's Lacrosse Team. In addition to the all-conference team, winners of six major individual awards and the team sportsmanship award were also selected.

Endicott junior Harrison Cotter was named the CCC Offensive Player of the Year, while sophomore teammate Cameron Bell was honored as the CCC Defensive Player of the Year. The Gulls also saw graduate student Peter Erickson claim CCC Short-Stick Specialist of the Year and EC freshman Colin Bannon chosen as the CCC Rookie of the Year. Western New England's Jesse DeLucca was selected as the CCC Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Endicott's Sean Quirk was tabbed as the CCC Coach of the Year, and Western New England University was the recipient of the Team Sportsmanship Award.

Voting for the All-CCC team and each of the major awards was conducted among CCC men's lacrosse coaches.

Wentworth Institute of Technology senior goalie Jared Proulx (Nashua, N.H.) was named Honorable Mention All-CCC as he started 14 of the team's 15 games this season, recording a 7-8 record with a 10.85 goals against average and a .561 save percentage while also picking up 58 ground balls. He had back-to-back, 21-save performances in losses to UMass Dartmouth and Western New England and turned aside 16 shots in a 12-10 win over the University of New England which clinched a CCC Tournament berth on Wednesday afternoon.

Proulx, who has played in 57 career games (tying him for most in program history), has made 45 starts and is 20-27 with a 9.61 goals against average and a .593 save percentage. He is second all-time on the program's win list, second in career saves (673), third in goals against average, fourth in both saves per game (11.81) and save percentage, and fifth with 167 career ground balls.

The Leopards are 7-8 overall and finished 4-4 in CCC play. As the number five seed, Wentworth will travel to fourth-seeded Salve Regina on Saturday (April 26) for a first round contest in the CCC Tournament.
