Senior Duo Selected to Play in NEILA East-West All-Star Game

NEWTON, Mass. – The New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) has announced the 52 student-athletes who will compete in this year's East-West Senior All Star Game on Friday, June 3, at 7:00 p.m. at Western New England University. This event features the top graduating seniors from Divisions 1, 2, and 3.

All players and coaches were nominated by the head coaches within the NEILA. Players were then ranked and selected by a committee awarding seniors from all three NCAA Divisions who played their college career in the New England region.

The NEILA East-West game also gives assistant coaches from some of the top programs each year the opportunity to take the reins as the coaching staffs of each team. This year the West will be coached by Mike Murray and Connor Mooney of Western New England and Scott Singer of Roger Williams University, while the East will be head manned by Merrimack's Bryan Brazill and Kyle Smith and Matt Colombini of Colby College.

For the second season in a row, Wentworth Institute of Technology will have two of its players participating in this contest as Alec Paradis (Pelham, N.H.) and Tim Parlato (Needham, Mass.) have been selected to compete.

Paradis, who was a Second Team All-Commonwealth Coast Conference selection this season after earning third team honors a season ago, played in 16 of the Leopards' 17 games this season and has set career highs in goals (46), assists (26), and points (72). Each of these statistics rank him among the top five in a single season in program history as he is tied for fourth in points and tied for fifth in both goals and assists. Paradis had a career-high six goals against Whittier on March 7, matched a career high with five assists against Emmanuel on March 26, and in that same game, established a career-best mark of 10 points.

In 63 career contests, Paradis has 111 goals and 72 assists for 183 career points. He ranks second on Wentworth's all-time list for points, goals, game-winning goals (six), and man-up goals (23) while he ranks fourth in assists, fifth in games played, and ninth in ground balls (165).

A two-time All-CCC selection (honorable mention as a freshman, third team as a senior) Parlato tallied 12 goals and seven assists for 19 points – all of which are career bests – while scooping up 100 ground balls and causing 25 turnovers. He has posted back to back, career high, three-point games to close out the regular season and his 100 ground balls are the third-most in a single season in program history.

Playing in a program record 68 games, Parlato's role has evolved from being the team's primary face-off specialist to a versatile, two-way midfielder who has been solid on defense as well as creating offensive opportunities. The program's all-time leader in ground balls (378) and ground balls per game (5.56), Parlato is second in program history with 83 caused turnovers and fourth in face-off winning percentage (.430).

Paradis and Parlato become the sixth and seventh members of the Leopard men's lacrosse team to be selected to play in this game, joining Mark Castela '99, Chris Wesche '09, Jared Proulx '14, Ryan Coakley '15, and Michael Cushera '15.

Wentworth concluded its season with a 4-13 record.
