Men's Lacrosse Tripped up by Endicott

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Will Jennings (Danvers, Mass.) scored five goals and added an assist to help pace the Endicott College men's lacrosse team to a 10-1 victory over Wentworth Institute of Technology Tuesday night on Sweeney Field.

Winners of three straight the Gulls improve to 3-6 overall and 3-0 in Commonwealth Coast Conference play while the Leopards fall to 5-4 (1-2).

Endicott scored three times in each of the first two quarters with Jennings scoring a pair and sophomore Bryan McManus (Madison, Conn.) scoring once and assisting on two others to pace the offense.

After neither team scored in the third quarter, Wentworth opened the fourth quarter with a goal from sophomore Spencer Allen (New Boston, N.H.) to cut the deficit to 6-1. Just under four minutes later McManus put the Gulls ahead 7-1 before Jennings scored three times in a span of 3:15 to round out the scoring.

McManus finished with two goals and two assists to go along with 12 ground balls. Jennings also scooped up four ground balls while senior Tommy Hughes (Coram, N.Y.) was 12-of-14 from the X and had seven ground balls.

In addition to scoring the Leopards' lone goal of the night, Allen had four ground balls which tied with sophomore Zach Tomaszek (Milford, Conn.) for a team high. Senior Brody Stevens (Merrimack, N.H.) caused a pair of turnovers.

Junior Grant Thompson (South Hamilton, Mass.) made 11 saves in the win while junior Adam Dufault (Lexington, Mass.) made a career-high 22 stops in the loss. Endicott had a 55-25 shot advantage and a 59-26 advantage on ground balls.

Wentworth hosts Gordon on Wednesday night.
