Novice Four Notches Another Win at Quinsigamond Snake Regatta

SHREWSBURY, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology rowing team received its third straight first-place finish from its novice four boat as the Leopards competed at the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta on Saturday.

Freshman coxswain Sara Anderson (Manchester, N.H.), freshman Bohdan Ruehle (Kinnelon, N.J.), freshman Tyler Brinson (Lowell, Mass.), freshman Dylan Ryan (Belmont, Mass.), and freshman Sepehr Khansalar (Cambridge, Mass.) placed first among the five teams in the Men's Novice Four race as the boat crossed the line in w time of 15:37.306. Wentworth defeated its second place competition, Bowdoin, by over a minute and seven seconds.

The Men's Varsity Four race saw the Leopards enter a pair of boats and finish eighth and 13th in the 20-boat race. Freshman coxswain Jocelyn Frechette (Dracut, Mass.), junior Matt West (Hingham, Mass.), junior Logan O'Donnell (Killingworth, Conn.), junior Alec Boyle (Shirley, Mass.), and sophomore Karlis Kaza (Nahant, Mass.) finished eighth with a time of 15:17.355.

Sophomore coxswain Leslie Vongphakdy (Riverside, R.I.), sophomore TJ Dion (Lincoln, R.I.), junior Dylan McGuinness (Methuen, Mass.), junior Kyle Rowe (Eliot, Maine), and junior Padraic O'Sullivan (Upton, Mass.) finished 13th in the race with a time of 15:54.835.

Freshman coxswain Emily Seslar (Plymouth, Mass.), sophomore Conall Sullivan (Jacksonville, Vt.), sophomore Travis Worrick (Plymouth, Mass.), junior Jacob L'Heuereux (Sanford, Maine), freshman James Bednar (Kansas City, Mo.), freshman John Speight (Island Park, N.Y.), freshman Joshua Tremblay (Lowell, Mass.), freshman Liam Jacques (Medford, Mass.), and freshman Cameron Labrecque (Bedford, N.H.) competed in the Men's Novice Eight race where the Black & Gold finished second to WPI after crossing the line in a time of 14:50.096.

Wentworth will compete at the historic Head of the Charles Regatta next Saturday.
