SHELTON, Conn. – The Varsity Four boat for the Wentworth Institute of Technology rowing team placed second in its race as the Leopards competed at the Head of the Housatonic Regatta on Saturday.
Wentworth entered two boats into the race – the Novice Four boat and the Varsity Four boat (which was entered into the Collegiate Men's (Non-IRA) Fours race.
The Leopards' Novice Four boat picked up a third-place finish in their race, finishing with a time of 18:14.3. This time defeated Manhattan (18:53.6) and New York Maritime (19:44.6) while was behind Fordham (16:20.4) and Coast Guard (17:48.6).
In the Varsity Four race, Wentworth's impressive time of 15:48.8 was second only to Fordham's 15:36.4 while the Black & Gold defeated nine boats, including Connecticut, which the Leopards defeated by 4.8 seconds.
Wentworth will compete in the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta on Saturday, October 19.
