BOSTON, Mass. – In the regular-season finale for both squads, Wentworth Institute of Technology and the University of New England men's soccer teams played to a 0-0 tie in Commonwealth Coast Conference action on Sweeney Field.

With the tie the Leopards stand at 2-14-1 (2-6-1 CCC) and earn a spot in the upcoming CCC Men's Soccer Tournament, where the pairings will be announced on Wednesday evening. The Nor'Easters see their season end with a 6-8-4 (1-6-2) record.

The first half saw the Leopards outshoot the visitors by an 11-5 margin, however four of UNE's shots were on goal as opposed to five of Wentworth's. The Nor'Easters had a pair of chances late but freshman Chase Richard (Smithfield, R.I.) kept the game scoreless.

In the second half, UNE held a 9-8 shot advantage but both Richard and junior Aidan McParland (Brockville, Ont.) helped keep the game scoreless. The Nor'Easters had a chance to break the ice with 30 seconds left when junior Sean Goodrich (Gorham, N.H.) had an open shot from the left that went just wide to the right.

UNE had a golden opportunity in the first overtime when Goodrich rifled a shot that hit the crossbar, bounced down, and was cleared out by the Leopards. The Nor'Easters would have the lone shot of the second overtime.

Rchard made eight stops for the Black & Gold while McParland stopped 10 shots. Wentworth held a 21-16 shot advantage and a 7-3 edge on corner kicks.
