BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Matt Cicalis (Bridgewater, Mass.) had a pair of goals and sophomore Noah Martins (Dartmouth, Mass.) continued his strong week as he notched a goal and an assist to help the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's soccer team capture its fourth straight win with a 4-2 triumph over Salve Regina in a Commonwealth Coast Conference contest played at Sweeney Field.

With the win the Leopards improve to 6-2-2 overall and 2-0-1 in CCC play while the Seahawks fall to 1-6-1 (0-2-1).

In his last two games, Martins has recorded 10 points, coming on four goals and two assists.

Salve tallied the first goal of the match, which came in the seventh minute. While going to the net, senior Evan Dudney (North Andover, Mass.) was tripped up by a Wentworth defender. Senior Steven Ashton (Sherborn, Mass.) stepped up to the spot and beat sophomore Matthew Sekerak (Winthrop, Maine).

Martins would unofficially factor into Wentworth's first goal as, just under five minutes later, he was taken down inside the box which led to a Leopard penalty kick. Junior Emmett Basaca (San Diego, Calif.) stepped up and drilled a shot past sophomore Michael Payan (Fort Lee, N.J.).

Basaca's goal began a string of four unanswered marked for the Black & Gold, however the next three wouldn't come until the second half. At 50:50, Martins put the hosts ahead for good when he put home the rebound of his own shot. Exactly 10 minutes later he would set up junior Matt Cicalis (Bridgewater, Mass.) when he had the ball low on the right side and fed Cicalis who beat Payan inside the left post.

Cicalis gave the Leopards a 3-1 lead at the 68:16 when he took a pass from freshman Joe Limoli (Peabody, Mass.) and drilled a shot to the upper left corner.

Salve Regina cut the lead to 4-2 with 9:41 remaining when junior Travis Pisano (Deer Park, N.Y.) converted on a direct kick opportunity. Pisano set up from 25 yards out and put a shot off the crossbar which, on the way down, deflected off Sekerak and in.

Sekerak made two saves in the win while Payan made nine saves in defeat. Wentworth had a 20-7 shot advantage and a 9-1 edge on corner kicks.

The Leopards are at Lesley on Wednesday night.
