Martins Named CCC Offensive Player of the Week

BOSTON, Mass. – After scoring 10 points in two games, sophomore forward Noah Martins (Dartmouth, Mass.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's soccer team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Martins earns the honor for games played from Sept. 19-25.

Martins, who earns the honor for the second time this season, helped the Leopards to a 2-0 week by scoring four goals and assisting on two others. In a 5-3 win at MIT he scored three goals and assisted on a fourth for a seven-point game. He completed the week by scoring a goal and an assist in a 4-2 win over Salve Regina. In that game he also unofficially factored in Wentworth's first goal of the contest when he was fouled inside the box, resulting in a penalty kick.

In 10 games, Martins leads the team with eight goals and five assists for 21 points. Fourteen of his 21 points have come in three of the last four contests.

Winners of four straight and unbeaten in their last six contests (4-0-2), the Leopards are at Lesley on Wednesday night.
