CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior Ivan Jutamulia (Berkeley, Calif.) scored a pair of goals and senior Joshua Wilson (West Chester, Pa.) had a goal and an assist as the MIT men's soccer team defeated Wentworth Institute of Technology, 4-0, in non-conference action at Steinbrenner Stadium.

Jutamulia put the hosts on the board at the 19:16 mark when Wilson sent a long, high pass from midfield and the shot went just out of the reach of junior keeper Philip Chomicki (Dorchester, Mass.). Wilson made it a 2-0 game with 9:09 remaining in the half when his free kick from 11 yards out curled into the left corner of the net. The Engineers had a 16-0 shot advantage at the break, including putting eight shots on net.

In the 47th minute, Jutamulia nearly made a 3-0 game, however, his header was cleared away by a back line defender to keep the game 2-0.

At the 66:49 mark, Jutamulia did increase the lead to 3-0 when he took a short pass from junior Isaac Perper (Tiburon, Calif.) and drilled a shot to the lower left corner. With 2:20 remaining, freshman Kaleb Blake (Los Angeles, Calif.) completed the scoring when he put home the rebound of a sophomore Loukas Carayannopoul (Westfield, N.J.) shot which was saved by Chomicki.

Junior Jeremy Cowham (Quincy, Mass.) didn't need to make a save in the win while Chomicki made eight stops in the loss. MIT had a 26-5 shot advantage and had six of the game's nine corners.

Wentworth (4-3-1) opens Commonwealth Coast Conference play at Curry on Saturday.
