HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • On their first shot of the game, the Chargers took a 1-0 lead, thanks to a goal from freshman Callum Buchanan (Eastbourne, England), which was set up by sophomore Tim Driscoll (Framingham, Mass.)
  • Wentworth had a 10-1 shot advantage in the first half with three of those shots going on target, however, couldn't break through. The Leopards continued to control play in the second half and did not allow a shot until Colby-Sawyer went ahead 2-0 with 8:52 left when sophomore Mason Galbato (North Easton, Mass.) scored from freshman Kevin Mollison (Gorham, Maine)
  • Just 10 seconds after falling behind 2-0, the Leopards cut the deficit in half when junior Nathan Gosselin (Hudson, N.H.) slipped a shot by sophomore keeper Lucas Boetsch (Rockport, Maine). The momentum remained with the Black & Gold and senior Griffin Price (Allendale, N.J.) got the equalizer, coming from a feed from junior John Dauphn (Yorba Linda, Calif.) at 87:56
  • Early in the second overtime, sophomore Robbie West (Weymouth, Mass.) kept the game tied when he denied a bid by freshman Nico Adornetto (Sanford, Maine). Wentworth countered with a chance in the 106th minute when sophomore Erik Treble's (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) shot was saved by Boetsch.
  • Just over a minute later, sophomore Jomar Martins (Braintree, Mass.) nearly won it for the Leopards when he one-timed a corner kick service that went just over the net
  • Wentworth had a commanding, 29-5 shot advantage on the afternoon

SERIES NOTES:
