BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's tennis team earned their third Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) win in a row as the Gulls defeated Wentworth 7-2 at home to improve to 9-6 (4-2 CCC) this spring.  The Leopards dropped to 5-5 overall with a 3-3 conference record.

Endicott took two of three doubles matches and five of six singles matches, suffering losses in the #1 doubles and singles positions.  Senior Benjamin Randlett (Middlebury, Vt.) and sophomore Eric Gandrup (Sudbury, Mass.) won 8-3 in #2 doubles followed by junior Evan Ross (Worcester, Mass.) and freshman Michael Dolph's (Stratford, Conn.) 8-0 triumph at the #3 position to go up 2-0.

At the top doubles position, Wentworth seniors Dave Filar (Wolcott, Conn.) and Juan Rodriguez (Quito, Ecuador) fended off their Gulls opposition 9-7 as the two teams headed into singles play with Endicott leading 2-1.

Dolph led off singles action with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at #5 singles to improve to 4-1 at that position.  Senior Jake Cohen (Barrington, R.I.) won in straight sets 6-0, 6-1 at #3 singles followed by sophomore Timothy Forance's (Natick, Mass.) eighth win at the #4 singles flight, earning a 6-1, 6-0 triumph.  Ross and sophomore Michael Lauretano (Winchester, Mass.) also claimed straight set wins at the #2 and #6 spots, respectively, before Wentworth's Rodriguez took the top singles match up.

Rodriguez took set on 6-2 and used a 7-4 tiebreaker with opponent Olivier Joggi (Stoneham, Mass.) to edge the second set 7-6.

Endicott will honor its seniors at home this Saturday, April 20 at 12:00 pm against Curry for Senior Day.  Wentworth travels to CCC foe Nichols on Saturday for an 11:00 am start time.
