Tony Moschetto Named Head Men's Tennis Coach

BOSTON, Mass. – Tony Moschetto, a veteran coach with nearly 20 years of coaching and teaching experience, has been named the head men's tennis coach at Wentworth Institute of Technology as announced by Angel Ayres, director of Athletics.

"It is with great pleasure that we add Coach Moschetto to our athletic staff," said Ayres. "Coach Moschetto comes to us with a wide variety of both coaching and playing experience. His passion and commitment to the game is impressive and I look forward to having him lead and mentor our student-athletes."

Moschetto played tennis for three seasons at Anna Maria College where he was the team's most valuable player during his junior year and a team captain his senior year. He earned his Bachelor's degree in 1991.

He began his coaching career at the high school level in 1988, serving as the coach at Roxbury Latin School before stints at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School (1994-1995), Triton Regional High School (1997-2001), Ipswich High School (2004-2008), and Newburyport High School (2011). While at Ipswich, he was named the Cape Ann League's Coach of the Year in 2007. In 2012 he worked at Bentley University as an Assistant Men's & Women's Tennis Coach.

A USTPA certified professional, he presently serves as the Tennis Director at the Old Town Country Club in Newbury, Mass. and has taught at the Newburyport Racquet Club, I-Tennis in Pasadena, Calif., the East Side Racquet Club in New York City, and the Hillcrest Country Club in Beverly Hills, Calif.

"Honored, thrilled, proud, fortunate are just a few of the adjectives that describe how I feel about being chosen as the new men's tennis coach at Wentworth," said Moschetto. "I'm excited to be part of an athletics program with such a tradition and positive atmosphere. I am truly grateful for the opportunity and feel the possibilities are limitless. I cannot wait to get started."
