Gordon Sweeps Men's Tennis

WESTON, Mass. — The Gordon College men's tennis team picked up its sixth straight win as the Fighting Scots defeated Wentworth Institute of Technology, 9-0, at Regis College on Saturday.

With the win Gordon improves to 10-2 overall and 3-0 in the CCC while the Leopards fall to 3-5 (1-3).

Zach Hall (Sugar Land, Texas) and Mason Casady (Santa Barbara, Calif.) picked up an 8-0 triumph at first doubles over James Drum (Madison, Conn.) and Henry Tittmann (Cambridge, Mass.). Peter Godwin (Manchester, Conn.) and Joe Daugherty (Norfolk, Va.) earned and 8-4 win over Zach Peter (Preston, Conn.) Josh Dowd (Bristol, Conn.) at the second flight to put the Scots up 2-0.

Caven Bell (Long Valley, N.J.) teamed up with Kristopher Marineau (Auburn, N.H.) at third doubles and fought off Mike Withington (Plymouth, Mass.) and James Thomas (Lakeville, Mass.) in a hotly contested 9-8 (7-4) victory.
 
The Fighting Scots picked up all straight-set wins in singles play. Hall and Casady clinched the match for Gordon with wins at one and two Drum and Tittmann, respectively.

Wentworth is at Roger Williams on Tuesday.
