Drum Wraps up Career With All-CCC Nod

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference today announced the 2016 Men's Tennis All-CCC Teams and major award winners. Student-athletes from seven of the nine CCC men's tennis teams earned all-conference accolades.

Roger William's senior Eric Laboissonniere (Cumberland, R.I.) earned the top prize as he was named the 2016 CCC Player of the Year. Eastern Nazarene'sAlex Partyka (Moscow, Russia) was voted the league's Rookie of the Year and Gordon senior Zach Hall (Sugar Land, Texas) was selected as the Senior Scholar-Athlete. Hawks head coach Barry Gorman earned his second straight Coach of the Year nod and Wentworth was recognized with the Team Sportsmanship award.

Voting for the All-CCC teams and each of the major awards was conducted by the conference's nine men's tennis head coaches following the conclusion of the regular season.

Leopard senior James Drum (Madison, Conn.) closed out his fine career by being named Third Team All-CCC in singles play.

Drum picked up four singles wins on the season with three coming while playing at number one singles and the other coming at the number two slot. In CCC play Drum had a pair of victories, both of which came at the number one slot. He played seven of the eight CCC matches at the top position and won his final collegiate match at Salve Regina this past Wednesday. Additionally, Drum picked up four doubles wins, with three coming at number one.

For his career he won 14 singles matches with eight of those triumphs coming at number one and picked up 19 doubles victories, including when he went 7-7 as a freshman.
