Men's Tennis Falls at Regis

WESTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's tennis team wrapped up the fall portion of its schedule by dropping a 7-2 decision to Regis on Saturday morning at the Regis Tennis Courts.

With the win the Pride close out their fall season with a 3-5 mark and the Leopards end their fall segment with an 0-1 mark after their lone dual match of the season.

Senior Nick Hildreth (Harvard, Mass.) and sophomore Cam Charbonneau (Guilford, Conn.) gave Regis a 1-0 lead with an 8-1 win over Wentworth's No. 3 doubles tandem of junior Evan Gosselin (Lewiston, Maine) and freshman Ben Chasse (Plantsville, Conn.). The Leopards evened the match with an 8-0 win at No. 1 as junior Jeff Tocco (Plymouth, Mass.) and senior Matthew Smith (Pelham, N.H.) defeated junior Chris Harrow (North Reading, Mass.) and freshman Nolan Bebarta (Danville, Calif.). However, the Pride closed out doubles play with an 8-4 win at No. 2 as sophomore Luke Horton (Bass Harbor, Maine) and freshman Kyle Dugat (Houston, Texas) doubled up seniors Zach Peter (Preston, Conn.) and Thinh Dang (Boston, Mass.), 8-4.

Senior Jared Polley (North Reading, Mass.) picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win over Dang at No. 4 singles and senior Jeremy Morgenbesser (Bayport, N.Y.) defeated Gosselin by the same score at No. 5. Bebarta's 6-0, 6-0 win over Peter at No. 3 clinched the match for Regis.

Harrow defeated Tocco, 6-0, 6-4, at No. 1 and Horton edged Smith at No. 2, 6-3, 2-6, 10-5 before Chasse picked up a 6-4, 3-6, 10-8 win over freshman Evan Russell (East Wareham, Mass.) at No. 6.
