Men's Tennis Falls to Bridgewater State

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's tennis team fell to 2-4 on the season as the Leopards were defeated by Bridgewater State, 7-2, in non-conference action Monday afternoon.

The Bears took all three doubles matches, including one by default. At No. 2, senior Thinh Dang (Boston, Mass.) and freshman Alex Mularski (Auburn, Mass.) were edged, 8-5, by the Bridgewater State duo of sophomores Justin Haley (South Yarmouth, Mass.) and Michael Delisle (Berkley, Mass.).

After falling behind 4-0 when senior Chris Jastrab (Chicago, Ill.) defeated senior Zach Peter (Preston, Conn.) at No. 2 singles, the Leopards closed the gap to 4-2 when Dang won at No. 3, 7-5, 6-3, over Haley and junior Jeff Tocco (Plymouth, Mass.) picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 1 over senior Matt McGee (Warren, R.I.). However, those would be the only two points Wentworth would score as Bridgewater State picked up the final three singles points.

Mularksi had a three-set battle at No. 4, falling 3-6, 7-6 (7-3), 12-10 to Delisle.

Wentworth is at Gordon on Tuesday.
