CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Freshman Tyler Hall (Framingham, Mass.) and senior Seng Ly (Lynn, Mass.) each won their respective doubles and singles matches to help the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's tennis team pick up a 6-2 win over Suffolk Thursday afternoon in non-conference action the Buckingham Browne & Nichols.

The Leopards pick up their first win of the spring, evening their record to 2-2 in the process while the Rams drop their season opener. Wentworth's win snapped an eight-match series losing streak as the Black & Gold bested Suffolk for the first time since April 15, 2008.

Wentworth took a 2-1 lead after doubles play as Ly and senior Jeff Tocco (Plymouth, Mass.) teamed up at No. 1 for an 8-3 win over sophomores Omar Azzaoui (Miami Beach, Fla.) and Cameron Roach (Norwell, Mass.). The Leopards took a 2-0 lead after the No. 2 tandem of Hall and sophomore Alex Mularski (Auburn, Mass.) took an 8-5 win over junior Chris Parnagian (Cranston, R.I.) and sophomore Mike DeFelice (Branford, Conn.). Suffolk got its lone point in doubles when sophomore Kevin Greenman (Dunellen, N.J.) and junior Rami Esrawi (Braintree, Mass.) defeated freshmen Tristan Maus (Mansfield, Mass.) and Jarrett North (Roanoke, Texas) at No. 3, 8-6.

Tocco and Azzaoui battled at No. 1 with Azzaoui taking the first set, 6-4, before Tocco evened the match with a 6-3 win in the second set. The tiebreaker set went to Azzaoui, 13-11, as Suffolk evened the match. Hall gave the Leopards a 3-2 lead with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Roach at No. 2 before Maus extended the lead to 4-2 with a 2-6, 6-2, 10-1 win over junior Charles Tang (Hong Kong) at No. 5. Ly made quick work of Greenman at No. 4 (6-0, 6-0) to clinch the match before North picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win over Parnagian at No. 3, 6-2, 6-2.
