Eastern Nazarene Races Past Men's Tennis

QUINCY, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's tennis team was defeated by Eastern Nazarene, 9-0, in Commonwealth Coast Conference action Wednesday afternoon.

Doubles play kicked off with junior Shaw Campbell (Redding, Calif.) and freshman Julius Opaschowski (Hamburg, Germany) defeating freshman Matt Roberts (Westfield, Mass.) and sophomore Mun Chet (Braintree, Mass.) at No. 3, 8-0. No. 1 doubles saw junior Alex Partyka (Moscow, Russia) team with sophomore Laurent Ruttkowski, to defeat freshman Tyler Hall (Framingham, Mass.) and Jarrett North (Roanoke, Texas), 8-3. At No. 2, sophomore (Hamburg, Germany) teamed with sophomore Kaden Swarr (Brighton, Colo.) to defeat senior Seng Ly (Lynn, Mass.) and freshman Tristan Maus (Mansfield, Mass.), 8-2.

Partyka defeated Hall, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 1 singles before Opaschowski bested Maus by the same score at No. 4 to clinch the match for the Lions. At No. 2, Siercke defeated North, 6-1, 6-2. Sophomore Kyle Pierson (Redding, Calif.) defeated sophomore Alex Mularski (Auburn, Mass.) at No. 5, 6-0, 6-4, Swarr topped Roberts at No. 6, 6-0, 6-1, and Ly battled three sets against sophomore Santiago Camero (Valencia, Venezuela) before falling, 7-5, 4-6, 8-10.

Wentworth (3-7, 1-3 CCC) is at Lesley Friday night.
