Men's Tennis Cruises Past Suffolk

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Paced by four players who won multiple points, the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's tennis team cruised to an 8-1 win over Suffolk in non-conference action.

With the win the Leopards improve to 2-6 on the season while the Rams fall to 0-1.

Wentworth swept all three doubles flights, beginning with sophomores Tristan Maus (Mansfield, Mass.) and Harrison Maki (Rutland, Mass.) who earned an 8-5 win over Suffolk senior Chris Parnagian (Cranston, R.I.) and freshman Davis Alimonte (Pembroke, Mass.) at No. 2. No. 1 saw sophomore Tyler Hall (Framingham, Mass.) and junior Alex Mularski (Auburn, Mass.) team up for an 8-3 win over junior Mike DeFelice (Branford, Conn.) and senior Rami Esrawi (Braintree, Mass.). Junior Mun Chet (Braintree, Mass.) and sophomore Jarrett North (Roanoke, Texas) won 8-5 over sophomore David Grujic (Revere, Mass.) and freshman Hasan Eswari (Braintree, Mass.).

Sophomore Rahul Bahl (Brookline, Mass.) increased the lead to 4-0 with a 7-6, 6-2 win over senior Charles Tang (Hong Kong) at No. 1. Parnagian got the hosts on the board when he bested North at No. 2, 6-2, 6-4, however, Mularski clinched the match with a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 3 over Rami Esrawi. Hall dropped the first set at No. 1 before rebounding to win, 4-6, 6-0, 6-3, over DeFelice, Maus defeated freshman Ben Bricker (Los Angeles, Calif.), 6-3, 1-6, 10-5, at No. 4, while Maki was a 3-6, 6-4, 10-7 winner over freshman Davis Alimonte (Pembroke, Mass.) at No. 5.

Wentworth is at Albertus Magnus on Saturday.
